I'm pretty sure the range of new and improved features in this firmware update far exceeds anything they've done before in a firmware update for any EOS body. It's too bad that it won't continue after the 7DII (or whatever it is called.) comes along. It shows the power of the processing available in modern cameras that they can be upgraded this easily. It is gratifying to see Canon continuing to support the 7D with new features. I'll have to check out the video when I get home tonight! So much quicker than needing to slog through the clock setting when you change time zones. But being able to set a "do not pass" setting will be something I'll need to look into. Yes, the burst is a big deal for bird photography. Are they significant enhancements?Īnd the other aspect is, of course, does this tell us anything about the future of the 7D and/or a replacement? I'm wondering what other forum members, especially those who have a 7D, think of these improvements.
